This year’s theme is “Atlanta as a Global City: The Impact of Immigration and Foreign-born Residents on the Atlanta Metro Region.”
As Atlanta attracts new types of people, how will the city adapt its policies and plans to accommodate a more diverse population? How can Atlanta better support these types of populations? Which communities in the metro region are already initiating organizations and supporting economic development catered towards immigrant communities and foreign-born residents? In the current political climate, how are state and local policies either supporting or discouraging immigration policies and are these policies in conjunction with or defiant against current federal policies and attitudes?
Hear from a panel of experts that includes:
Anna Joo Kim, Assistant Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology
Marian Lou, Founder and Executive Director, We Love BuHi
David Schaefer, Director of Advocacy, Latin American Association
Stephanie Ali, Civic Engagement Manager, New American Pathways
