Dr. Ben Ross Schneider from Northwestern University will be presenting on
"Capitalism in Latin America: A Distinct Variety?"
Ben Ross Schneider is Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University. His publications include Reinventing Leviathan: The Politics of Administrative Reform in Developing Countries and Business Politics and the State in 20th Century Latin America. He has also written on economic reform, democratization, technocracy, the developmental state, and comparative bureaucracy. His current research revolves around two projects, the first on the institutional foundations of capitalist development in LatinAmerica, and the second on market oriented reform in health and education.
The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs is proud to present the Globalization, Innovation and Development, The Ivan Allen College Speaker Series on Science, Technology, and Society. The purpose of this program is to provide new and expert insights into the dynamic world of innovation and economic development under an ever more globalizing world. Our aim is to engage Georgia Tech faculty and students with cutting edge research from a multidisciplinary point of view, with the hope of expanding their understanding and encouraging research activities and collaborations.
