On Friday, August 11, the Communications Center will be renamed as the Naugle Communication Center in honor of Dr. Helen H. Naugle, a long-time English professor at Georgia Tech and one of the Institute's first two female faculty members.
Naugle envisioned a communications center serving the needs of faculty, staff, and students as early as the 1970s. The legacy was almost forgotten, but for a chance meeting between CommLab Director Karen Head and Naugle's grandaughter, Dr. Elizabeth Deibler Gadsby, who is a graduate of Georgia Tech. Dr. Gadsby's father, Dr. Naugle’s son-in-law, is also a GT graduate.
The family will be present for the naming ceremony. All are welcome so please join us in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Suite 447.
The Naugle Communication Center is part of the Ivan Allen College School of Literature, Media and Communication.
