There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Britney SchmidtVinyl cyanide sounds both deadly and stylish, and the lakes and seas of Saturn's moon Titan are filled with it, according to a new study. Despite its scary name, the presence of vinyl cyanide in Titan's atmosphere actually makes the moon a potential candidate for harboring life. Britney Schmidt, assistant professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, is quoted because of her research into Jupiter's moon Europa, the best candidate so far for supporting life elsewhere in the solar system.
