Two students from the Master's in Public Policy program at Georgia Tech recently visited Poland as part of a program in which they met Polish president, Andrzej Duda.
Rainey Jernigan and Jill Stevens, who wrapped up their first year in the MSPP program in May, were part of an exclusive group of six GT students to earn the first annual Polish President Scholarship, which was sponsored by General Electric and the Office of the President of Poland. Four other graduate students from other American universitites rounded out the scholarship group.
In addition to the group's special meeting with the president, the scholarship allowed all of them the rare opportunity to travel across Poland for 10 days. During these travels, the scholars from Georgia Tech visited various political and cultural sites, met with GE leaders, toured GE facilities, met with the Minister of Economic Development, Speaker of the Polish, and more.
