The Georgia Tech Housing Department is excited about the arrival of our new residents this fall. We know that parents have many questions about this move, and we want to provide some of the answers. The To Parents page on our website is a good place to begin.

In a few weeks detailed move-in instructions will be posted on our website which will give you important dates, times, locations, and directions. There will be specific links for Freshmen, Returning Undergraduates, Transfer, and Graduate students. Also, have your student monitor his/her email. New Freshmen may move in on Thursday and Friday, August 17-18, and all other residents move in Saturday and Sunday, August 19-20.

When students are packing, they (and their parents) should use our Items to Bring page for suggestions. Don’t let them pack too much, and encourage communication between roommates to avoid duplicate items.

Students can view their room assignment and roommate(s) information in the online application. If a room change is desired, he/she can do this using the Room Swap tab in the application. It is best if all room changes are completed online prior to checking out the room key in August. If your student has not applied for housing, but would like to do so, the application is still open.

The Assignment Staff for the Department of Housing is available to assist you and your student with questions you may have about housing. Call, email, or come to the Central Office. Thank you for choosing to have your student live in Georgia Tech on-campus housing. We value your trust and hope that it is a successful year for all of our residents!
