Four finalists have been chosen in the search for the new dean of the College of Engineering.

As part of the final selection process, each candidate will visit campus and present an open seminar addressing their broad vision for the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech. The hour-long seminars are open to all students, faculty, and staff. Interested individuals can attend in person, watch real-time via live stream, or watch a post-event video of each candidate presentation.                           

The finalists and seminar schedules follow:

  • Karen Thole, Distinguished Professor and Department Head, Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, will present an open seminar on Thursday, June 22, at 11 a.m. in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
  • Steve McLaughlin, Steve Chaddick School Chair and Professor, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will present an open seminar on Monday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
  • Rashid Bashir, Grainger Distinguished Chair Professor in Engineering, Head, Department of Bioengineering, Interim Vice Dean, Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, will present an open seminar on Monday, July 10, at 11 a.m. in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
  • Andrea Goldsmith, Stephen Harris Professor of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, will present an open seminar on Wednesday, July 12, at 10 a.m. in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
