Alaina Totten has been awarded the Sam Nunn Security Program (SNSP) Fellowship for the 2017 - 2018 academic year.
Alaina TottenAlaina Totten, doctoral student in the School of Economics, has been selected as a Sam Nunn Security Program (SNSP) Fellow for the 2017 - 2018 academic year.
Alaina’s current research focuses on homelessness within the state of Georgia. She seeks to understand characteristics of the individual so that programs can better serve them. She hopes to use her time in the Sam Nunn Security Fellowship to expand this research so that it may have an increased impact.
The SNSP Fellowship is a year-long intensive and interdisciplinary program that prepares engineers, scientists, and other technically-educated individuals to develop and implement policy options to help solve problems of national and international importance. It seeks to advance the role of scientific and technical advice on issues of international security through education, research, outreach activities, and participation in the policy advisement process.
