OIE Implements Practical Training Fee (PTF)

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Office of International Education at Georgia Tech will collect a $35 PTF fee each time an international undergraduate or graduate student holding an F or J student visa receives practical training benefits in the form of Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Academic Training (AT). The fee applies to a CPT, OPT or AT authorization with a start date after the summer 2017 semester. Applications submitted to the OIE for review after June 15, 2017 and related to a period of practical training starting after the summer 2017 semester will be required to show evidence of PTF payment.
