Title: Physical Layer Design and Performance Analysis for Cooperative Communication for Wireless Multi-hop Network
Committee:

Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is primarily concerned with physical layer signal processing and performance analysis of different cooperative communication schemes in wireless multi-hop networks. A new cooperative diversity approach combining random delay and phase dithering is proposed for SC-FDE to eliminate the coordination overhead, and is proved to be very robust in different channel models; a computationally efficient equalization algorithm which can compensate large multiple carrier frequency offsets (CFOs) is developed for the OFDM distributed spatial multiplexing (DSM). For the theoretical analysis part, novel analysis and new results for point-to-point SC-FDE linear equalizer are presented; the closed form expression for the distribution of the nonzero eigenvalues of the equivalent channel matrix of multi-hop DSM are supposed to be developed.
