There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Safety in the biological laboratory environment is an important mission of all research personnel at Georgia Tech. This course will discuss all the guidelines, regulations, and management practices for conducting and maintaining a safe laboratory environment. Topics covered include review of research by biosafety committees, basic biosafety information, waste disposal, sharps handling, GT shipping rules, and much more. New researchers and students are required to attend this training upon starting research. This training should be retaken every 3 years.
Who Should Attend? All current and prospective Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students that conduct any type of biological research in the laboratory environment.
