Seminar Title: Technology Needs for Major League Baseball

Speaker: Gary Green, M.D. - Medical Director and Research Director for Major League Baseball; Clinical Professor, UCLA Division of Sports Medicine; UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine

Dr. Green advises the Office of Commissioner on the health and safety of Major League Baseball players and is the primary liaison to club physicians and athletic trainers.

 

Biography for Gary Green, MD

Dr. Green is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine and a fellow in the American College of Physicians and American College of Sports Medicine. He is the Medical Director for Major League Baseball (MLB), acts as the MLB Research Director and their Consultant on Anabolic Steroids. He is a Clinical Professor in the UCLA School of Medicine in the Division of Sports Medicine. Dr. Green also maintains a clinical practice at the Pacific Palisades Medical Group. He has been a team physician for intercollegiate athletics since 1986 and currently serves as a team physician for Pepperdine University. Dr. Green was a member of the NCAA’s Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sport and chaired the NCAA Committee on Drug Testing and Drug Education. He has specialized in athletes and drug abuse and previously conducted research through the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory.
