ADFL Summer Seminar East - Building and Sustaining Language Programs: Access, Articulation, and Advocacy

Each summer the Association of Departments of Foreign Languages (ADFL) arranges two seminars where experienced and newly appointed chairs of ADFL member departments and other key faculty members and program leaders share information and consult about issues facing programs, departments, and the field.

ADLF Summer Seminar East is being hosted by Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, and Agnes Scott College at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Those interested can register and find a copy of the conference agenda at: https://adfl.mla.org/Seminars

The ADFL is a central resource for the language and literature community in the United States and Canada. ADFL's broad membership base of departments in diverse languages and every type and size of postsecondary institution makes it an ideal context for the examination and articulation of issues confronting the field and the development of fieldwide policy. Approximately one thousand college and university departments are members. The ADFL articulates fieldwide consensus on standards of good practice on such topics as class size and workload, evaluation of teaching and scholarship, the employment of adjunct faculty members, and procedures for departmental review.
