There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Title: Low-Power Computation using FPAA for Wearable Devices
Committee:

Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is to perform robust low-power mixed-signal computation for real time applications. The need for real time processing creates a strong drive for investigating and developing methods and system architectures which reduces the power consumption and compute locally near the sensor node. Analog computation has shown promising results in the space by significantly reducing the power consumption by processing the signal in analog without having to convert it into digital domain. Further, by adding programmability and configurability to analog, the effects of process, voltage and temperature variations could be reduced significantly.
