ATLANTA CLASSICAL ACADEMY HIRING FOR 2017 – 2018

The Atlanta Classical Academy is a classical charter school that opened K-8 in the 2014 academic year and will grow to K-12 by 2018. The curriculum in the elementary school consists in explicit phonics in spelling and reading; grammar via diagramming; the Core Knowledge sequence (not to be confused with Common Core) in literature, history, and science; Singapore math; and rudimentary Latin. Formal Latin is studied from the sixth to the eighth grades, and another year of Latin is required in the high school.
Certification for teachers is neither required nor preferred.

Atlanta Classical Academy is seeking a full-time upper school biology teacher to begin in the fall of 2017. The candidate should have at least a bachelor’s degree in biology. Teachers are hired based upon their mastery of academic disciplines and ability to convey knowledge to young people. Certification for teachers is neither required nor preferred.
The school is an open-enrollment, public charter school open to students who reside within the Atlanta Public Schools district.
Atlanta Classical Academy opened in 2014 with grades K – 8, and has added a grade each year as students advance until it becomes a K – 12 academy. The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop students in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
Certification for teachers is neither required nor preferred.
