The Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) will host its annual Industry Innovation Day on April 13th in Tech Square. The event serves to showcase research at IPaT and Georgia Tech as well as highlight the many avenues of collaboration. Industry Innovation Day builds on the success of the previous IPaT industry-oriented event, which we hosted for five years, the People and Technology Forum.

After breakfast, Industry Innovation Day will begin with thought-provoking keynotes and panel discussions on this year’s theme of Digital Transformation. Business leaders, researchers, city officials, entrepreneurs and government and non-profit leaders will examine the transformative impact and value of emerging tools, platforms and technologies, especially in the fields of healthcare and smart & connected communities.

In the afternoon, the GVU Center invites you to experience Georgia Tech research in people-centered technology that enhances our communities and impacts how we live day-to-day at the GVU Center and Digital Media Research Showcase. More than 60 interactive projects will let you touch, control and imagine what technology will enable in the future. All activities will take place in Atlanta’s Tech Square at the eastern edge of the Georgia Tech campus.

Industry Innovation Day attendees are also invited to our Convergence Innovation Competition on Tuesday, April 11th from 6 - 7pm at IPaT. See research demonstrations from Georgia Tech students in the categories of Lifelong Health and Well-Being, Smart Cities and Healthy Communities, Socio-Technical Systems and Human-Technology Frontier Innovation.
