Douglas County to become Georgia’s first computer science school system

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Douglas County Schools will be the first district in Georgia to offer computer science classes to all grade levels, it announced Tuesday. Douglas will phase in the Computer Science for All initiative over the next three years. It will partner with Google, Code.org, Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Math, Science and Computing (CEISMC) and the Georgia Department of Education.
