There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. What made the winter smog in China so bad in 2013 and in the winters since? Two new studies...argue that climate change will make this kind of smog event much more common. And, remarkably, one of them - by Yuhang Wang and others at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech - asserts that the Chinese smog of January 2013 was worsened by two weather phenomena thousands of miles away.
