This weekend, at the Decatur Opening Round Championship Series Tournament, which was hosted by Georgia Tech Mock Trial at the DeKalb County Courthouse, Georgia Tech Mock Trial A team finished with an UNDEFEATED record of 8-0.  GTMT A finished in First Place in the tournament and earned the first bid to the 33rd AMTA National Championship Tournament in Los Angeles, California, hosted by UCLA.  During the weekend, GTMT A defeated teams from the University of Alabama, Hendrix College, Millsaps College, and the University of South Carolina.  In addition to the team's success, graduating Seniors Troy Kleber and Sutton Birch won Outstanding Witness Awards at the tournament.  With this undefeated record, GTMT finishes the AMTA "regular season" with an undefeated record of 16-0, as they head to the National Championship looking to improve upon their 3rd Place finish at last year's tournament.

In addition to GTMT A's success, GTMT B competed this weekend back at ORCS for the first time since 2015.  While GTMT B did not ultimately end up placing in the top 6 to advance to the National Championship, they competed in extremely hard fought-rounds against top-tier teams from Millsaps College, the University of Central Florida, the University of Georgia and Washington & Lee University.  GTMT is extremely proud of the B team for their hard work and they proved that the future of GTMT is also bright!

Next Sunday night, GTMT will get an entirely new case problem to use at the National Championship Tournament.  Preparations will begin immediately to use this new case problem at the National Championship in less than a month on the weekend of April 21-23, 2017, in LA!!  Thanks to the continued support of Georgia Tech, the School of Public Policy, and Pre-Law of GTMT, and we hope to report back with even greater results in a month from California!
