There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain invites you to join us for a lunch meeting for GT Students*, Faculty, and Staff on Establishing a Greater Atlanta UN University Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Sustainability leaders from greater Atlanta's higher education institutions are seeking designation by the United Nations University as a Regional Centre for Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With five RCEs in the U.S. and 157 around the world, there are many benefits to supporting collaboration on the local and regional level and becoming part of a global movement.
Between now and end of May, when an initial draft is due to UNU, we will have different opportunities to shape the application and craft participation through some meetings and online input platforms. At the 2nd annual INSS-Atlanta conference June 5/6-7, we will come together to build on the draft to continue working on the application and to start planning some more joint activities to increase collective impact around ESD.
For more information about RCEs and the greater Atlanta opportunity, please find this concept piece and listen to this Webinar recording. Also see the RCE Network website.
This effort is currently being led by Georgia Tech and Emory. Questions? Contact Jennifer Hirsch, Director, Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain at Georgia Tech.
*Students please note: SLS will also host a separate meeting specifically for students about forming an RCE Youth Network as part of the RCE, open to students from GT, Emory, Spelman, UGA, and other universities in the area. If you’d rather wait until that meeting to get involved, feel free – or you can attend both! Date TBD very soon.
