Professor Howie Weiss has been awarded a three-year, $1.38M grant from Boeing to study the transmission of infectious diseases on aircraft. Howie and collaborators at Emory University and Delta Airlines will document patterns of passenger movement inside aircraft cabins and inventory the microbes present in cabin air and on surfaces.
