There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. School of Mathematics graduate student Joseph D. Walsh, a second year student in our PhD program, has been awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. According to the NSF: "The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees at accredited US institutions." The fellowship offers three years of support. NSF received 14,000 applications for the 2014 competition.
