Workshop on Original Policy Research

Title: Trendy Solutions - Why do states adopt Sustainable Energy Portfolio Standards?
Jess Chandler is studying Energy Policy. Her current research interests include: Electricity consumption and conservation at the household level, Technical and economic energy efficiency potentials, Nuclear materials handling, and Freight transport improvement. As a research assistant for Dr. Marilyn Brown, Jess has been part of a team responding to requirements in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 for defining, and finding methods of overcoming, barriers to the commercialization and deployment of GHG intensity reducing technologies.
Jess received her MS in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Before coming to Georgia Tech, she served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear electronics technician.
