There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Yuhang WangClimate change played a major role in the extreme air pollution events suffered recently by China and is likely to make such “airpocalypses” more common, new research has revealed....“The very rapid change in polar warming is really having a large impact on China,” said Prof. Yuhang Wang, at Georgia Tech in the U.S., who led the new research. “Emissions in China have been decreasing over the last four years, but the severe winter haze is not getting better.” Yuhang Wang is a professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. The study he co-authored was first published in Science Advances.
