No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Fact: 60 percent of matriculating first year medical students take at least one or more years away from college prior to starting medical school. Often students need to strengthen their application or do something amazing like a fellowship abroad or gain real life experiences, such as teaching in an underserved community. Time after college can strengthen applications for law school or graduate school as well.

The Pre-Graduate and Pre-Professional (PGPP) advising team (Pre-Teaching, Pre-Law, Pre-Health, Pre-Graduate and Prestigious Fellowships) will be hosting a workshop on The Bridge Year. PGPP prefers the term “Bridge Year” as it is important to highlight that students will be building a bridge from their undergraduate career to their professional or graduate program. Explore with your Yellow Jacket what their timeline looks like and how well rounded their application may be. Would a bridge year provide the opportunity to strengthen their application?

Encourage them to attend our workshop on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 11 a.m. - noon in the Bill Moore Student Success Center.
