Summaries

Summary Sentence: A high school engineering competition focused on analysis and design.

Full Summary: The Georgia Tech Engineering Olympics is a high school competition where students compete in seven 50-minute events* representing four engineering departments at Georgia Tech.

This competition is geared towards high school students interested in engineering. The competition format follows that of the Science Olympiad and offers a range of engineering events from several different engineering fields. The goal of the competition is for students to get a better understanding of what engineering is as they prepare for college.

Competition Format:
Each school can bring one or more teams, with a maximum of eight students per team. Two students from each team will compete in the events. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each event, and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams for the
overall competition. Similar to the Science Olympiad, each team must compete in every
event in order to be eligible for awards.
