Seminar Title: Career Options
Abstract:
In this talk, I will share with the students about career options, academic research, and industry experience from the perspective of an GT ECE graduate. I will introduce several projects that I worked on in my career, including problems in machine learning and natural language processing. I will conclude with practical advice for job search and career planning.
Speaker Bio:
Mu Wei received his BS and PhD in ECE from Georgia Tech in 2007 and 2012, respectively. After graduation, he was first a postdoctoral researcher at Georgia Tech and then at the Johns
Hopkins University, where he worked on machine learning for disease prediction. Afterwards, he joined Bloomberg in New York City where he worked on financial data modeling and natural language processing applications.
