You are invited to join us for the visit of Ambassador Luis Gallegos at the Georgia Institute of Technology on February 24, 2017. Ambassador Gallegos served as the Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva between November 2011 and June 2014. 

The Ambassador’s lecture will highlight the inspiring launch of the first international treaty recognizing the rights with persons with disabilities. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its adoption by the United Nations. 

Ambassador Gallegos was a member of the UN Committee against Torture and President of the International Rehabilitation Foundation; currently Chairman of the Global UN Partnership for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (G3ict). Ambassador Gallegos is also a board member for the Special Olympics.
