Congratulations, Jackets! You’ve completed the first month of spring semester. Luckily, February has a lot to offer Tech students. Check out some of the events happening this week.

Monday, February 6

  • What: Free Play Monday
  • When: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.         
  • Where: Tech Rec in the Student Center

Reward yourself for getting through Monday by heading to Tech Rec for free bowling, billiards, video games, air hockey, and foosball. Tech Rec’s motto, “study hard, play harder,” has led to free play every Monday until May 1. Remember to bring your BuzzCard to participate. 

Tuesday, February 7

GTIA and GTSBE have partnered to host the first International Career Forum at Tech. This event features resume critiques, elevator pitch development workshops, and a Q&A with an experienced student panel. Students interested in attending should register here. Business professional attire is suggested.

Wednesday, February 8

The Georgia Tech Farmers Market is back in action, starting Wednesday, Feb. 8. Head to the market for delicious treats, coffee, locally grown produce, soaps, lotions, and more. The market will run almost every Wednesday until April 26. Come hungry and bring a friend.

Thursday, February 9

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day card to woo your sweetheart, head out to Skiles Walkway. Delta Phi Lambda will be selling specialty Valentine’s full of jokes, puns, and celebrity references. All cards are $1 and will be sold until Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Friday, February 10

Hilarity ensues in Oscar Wilde’s most notable comedy when two bachelor friends, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, take on alternate identities to court Cecily Cardew and Gwendolyn Fairfax. Tickets are $8 for students and can be reserved here. Shows will run Feb. 10 – 25. Head out to support your peers in this comical performance.

Saturday, February 11

The theme of this year’s business forum is “How to Ace the Recruiting Cycle and Land a Job." The CEO of Manhattan Associates, Eddie Capel, is the keynote speaker, and there will be workshops from McKinsey and Company, LinkedIn, and Capital One. For $5, students get the chance to network with business leaders, attend a mock career fair with company recruiters, and eat at a networking dinner. For students who, refer two friends to attend the event, the ticket cost will be reimbursed. Register here.

Sunday, February 12

On the second Sunday of each month, the High offers free admission for all visitors from 1 – 4 p.m. Take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy beautiful art — on the house!
