The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) is offering the following grant opportunities in conjunction with the Tenth Annual ASMEA Conference on October 19-21, 2017 in Washington, DC.

The ASMEA Research Grant program seeks to support research on topics in Middle Eastern and African studies that deserve greater attention. Applicants may submit paper proposals on any topic as long as it is relevant to the five broad areas that can be found on their website, and constitutes new and original research. Successful research grant applicants are required to present their research at the conference and provide ASMEA the right of first refusal for potential publication in their peer-reviewed Journal of the Middle East and Africa.

In addition, ASMEA is offering Conference Travel Grants of up to $750 to members whose paper proposals have been accepted for presentation at the Annual Conference.

Applicants can apply for both grants, but only one may be awarded. The application deadline is March 31, 2017.

Additional information and the online application can be found at www.asmeascholars.org.
