Summary Sentence: Sponsored by the Communication Center and the Office of International Education

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Join the Communication Center and OIE for a workshop and conversation about effective intercultural interaction in the academic and professional settings. International and American students, scholars, and staff are welcome!

Led by Dr. Julie McCormick Weng. About Dr. McCormick Weng:
“Raised in a diverse Texas community, I grew up appreciating new cultural encounters. I ate Korean BBQ, learned Bollywood dances, and listened to Reggaetón. My academic interests took me to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where I completed my PhD in English and developed further my interest in cultural studies and literature. I enjoy world history, underdog stories, and examining underrepresented and overlooked causes in my research and teaching. When I'm not reading my favorite author, James Joyce, you can find me practicing Mandarin Chinese and putting peanut butter in my ice cream.”

*RSVP required; space limited to 30 participants. Click here to RSVP. Refreshments provided; please include in your RSVP your dietary restrictions, degree level, and degree program.
