The weeks surrounding final exams can present a tough time for students at Tech. Luckily, student organizations across campus are ready to help.
Check out one of these stress-free events to relax and de-stress in the midst of finals.
The Residence Hall Association will host bounce castles, boxing rings, jousting stadiums, and obstacle courses. Head out to the Instructional Center Lawn to jump around, enjoy hot chocolate, and relax before finals.
If you’re feeling stressed about finals, head out to this event for puppies, color smash, games, s’mores, and prizes. Relax, destress, and have a good time with friends.
Support the Merry Go Rounds, a Tech student band, in their last performance. Tickets are $5 or free with BuzzCard. Listen to their music here.
Dance to the tunes of Swing DJ Jim Wheatley’s Vinyl Experience and Blues DJs Emily Nybo and Benjy Thomas. There will be two free beginner swing dance lessons from 8 – 9 p.m., followed by open dancing. Admission is $5 for students.
The Final Stand is the oldest tradition of FreShGA, the first-year arm of the Student Government Association, and typically has more than 2,000 students in attendance. The event includes basketball, soccer, dodgeball, volleyball, poker, trivia, and more, and is completely student-run. There will be free pizza, drinks, T-shirts, and prizes at stake.
Hear one of Tech’s leading female acapella groups, Nothin’ But Treble. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door. The performance includes a variety of new songs and is sure to entertain.
Emerging Leaders will hand out free Krispy Kreme donuts for these three nights. All are welcome to stop by for a treat while learning about mental health and how to destress for finals week.
Head to Chick-fil-A for a special college night. Breakfast will be served and there will also be opportunities to wrap holiday gifts for the Atlanta Mission.
Stop by the Women’s Resource Center to take a break from studying during your reading period. Enjoy chili (vegetarian options provided), and feel free to bring a side dish. Come and bring a friend!
Cheer on, high five, and encourage first-year students as they approach their first round of final exams. Show your support by lining Yellow Jacket Alley to spread the "good word." Free food and drinks will be provided.
Take a break from studying and decompress by attending a GIT Fit Class at the Campus Recreation Center. The schedule of classes is available here. Bring your BuzzCard for admittance. The classes are first-come, first-served so head out early to ensure a spot.
