Margaret Kosal, an associate professor in the Ivan Allen College Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, spoke at the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA)’s “Army Ground Combat Platforms” forum in Arlington, Virginia on November 1, 2016.
As part of a panel entitled “Future Operational Environment and Movement and Maneuver,” Kosal discussed the role of ground combat vehicles as part of the overall defense strategy. Her remarks touched on the importance of basic research, program management, and unconventional tactics by adversaries to invisible tanks.
The forum brought together senior Army officials, think tank experts, industry leaders, and others to discuss the Army’s anticipated requirements for ground combat platforms, including unmanned systems and strategies for employing them.
