The National CASA is a nationwide network of nearly 1,000 CASA and Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) programs that support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy on behalf of children and youth in the foster care and court systems that have experienced abuse or neglect.
In 2015, CASA programs in Georgia supported more than 2,100 volunteers who served more than 9,700 of the state’s children who had been abused or neglected. Nationwide, there are more than 76,000 CASA and GAL volunteers who serve more than 250,000 children, but more than 450,000 children are without an advocate.
Bankoff has deep expertise working with complex organizations and organizations that benefit vulnerable children. He has served as chair of the Nunn School since 2012, following six years as president and CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. He currently serves as the chair of the nominating committee for the Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage.
Bankoff’s expertise ranges across law and policy, government legislation and fiscal planning. He spent 32 years as a senior partner at the Atlanta-based law firm of King and Spalding where he was the head of the law firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice group.
