On Tuesday, 1 November Nunn School Professor Margaret E. Kosal spoke at the Association of the US Army (AUSA) on “Future Operational Environment and Technologies for the Army.” Kosal spoke at the AUSA’s Institute of Land Warfare Forum on Army Ground Combat Platforms, which reexamined the role of ground combat vehicles as part of the overall defense strategy and considering the overall, changing complexity of geopolitics in the 21st Century. Her comments ranged from importance of basic research, program management, and unconventional tactics by adversaries to invisible tanks.
The forum brought together Senior Army officials, think tank experts, industry leaders, and others to discuss the Army’s anticipated requirements for ground combat platforms, including unmanned systems and strategies for employing them.
