There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Hernando Jimenez, 36, a Research Engineer II working in Georgia Tech’s Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory, died October 23, 2016.
A native of Colombia, Jimenez was a three-time graduate of Georgia Tech, most recently earning his doctoral degree in 2009. As a research engineer in ASDL, he led a number of major research projects in the areas of systems analysis of unmanned air systems, environmentally responsible aviation, and next generation technologies.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. His visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26 from 5 – 7 p.m. Both will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA.
The sympathy of the entire Georgia Tech community is with the Jimenez family as they grieve their loss.
