Jun Choi - Georgia Tech, EAS, Postdoc and Emily Davenport - UGA, ECOGIG demonstrate remotely operated underwater vehicle at ECOGIG Exhibit.
The ECOGIG Ocean Discovery Zone is an exhibit booth and hands-on activity station designed to give non-scientists of all ages access to information about the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Gulf of Mexico and the importance of healthy ocean ecosystems. The exhibit was on display at Cowan Road Middle School in Griffin, Georgia on October 20, 2016.
The ECOGIG team at UGA, Georgia Tech College of Sciences Earth and Atmospherics, and CEISMC facilitated the STEM event for 7th graders. The exhibit corresponded to classroom learning modules that CEISMC's AMP-IT-UP program developed that were piloted at Cowan Road Middle school.
