Assistant Professor Matt McDowell has been awarded an Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) grant through the Young Investigator Research Program (YIP). The YIP is open to scientist and engineers at research institutions across the United States who received Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the last five years and who showed exceptional ability and promise for conducting basic research. McDowell's anticipated research area for this award is "Reaction-Induced Sintering for Fabrication of Bulk Nanoporous and Composite Metals."
