Hurricane Matthew forces Georgia Tech-Savannah to close October 6-7

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. Georgia Tech officials announced October 5 that Georgia Tech-Savannah would be closed the following two days because of the approaching Hurricane Matthew.

The storm is currently a category three and is expected to still be a significant storm when it reaches the Savannah area. Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal issued a state of emergency for 13 counties in South Georgia in advance of the storm.
