There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. All this talk about environmental justices sounds okay and interesting, and all, but how does it connect with the work students and young professionals are actually doing, day to day? Taking hydraulic fracturing as an example, we'll look at different kinds of work engineers have to do at different stages of their development as professionals, drawing connections between the tasks they have at hand - in the lab and in the field - and broader social and ethical concerns about equity, consent, and acceptable risk.
