You’ve taken several French classes now and you’re thinking seriously about making this a long-term commitment, but you don’t know how will you turn your passion into a career after graduation?
Believe it or not, international organizations and Non-Government Agencies (NGOs) rely heavily on employees who speak French. With over 220 million French speakers worldwide on the 5 continents, French has the status of an official language in 32 different countries and governments, and is ranked the sixth most widely spoken language.
From October 12-22, 2016 representatives from local NGOs will share their field experience with students of French from participating Metro Atlanta high schools and universities. In addition to learning about global humanitarian affairs, students will have the opportunity to discover new ways to use the French language in a professional setting.
If you are a French teacher looking for ways to inspire your students, this is an opportunity that will help you showcase the benefits of learning and speaking French for their career futures.
For educators wishing to sign up to welcome a humanitatian presentation in a Metro Atlanta School please fill out this form and email it to education@consulfrance-atlanta.org before September 12th, 2016.
