Workshop on Nanomaterials Manufacturing for Energy Applications

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: Join us for this one-day workshop that will consider nanoscale manufacturing challenges that arise in energy applications.

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

The photolithographic-centric manufacturing of nanoscale electronic devices such as transistors has underwritten advances in computing for the past 50 years. If we are to revolutionize our energy systems in the next 50 years, we will need similar advances in the cost per function of nanoscale materials at manufacturing volumes that exceed those of the electronics industry by orders of magnitude.

This workshop will consider nanoscale manufacturing challenges that arise in energy applications. We will focus on two overarching themes: (1) large-scale production of functional nanomaterials and (2) the manufacturing of systems based on them. Each will be approached through specific technological challenges. Our goal is to further articulate the challenges and to begin to establish a roadmap of research and technology development that can address them.
