There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Over 500 people attended the 2010 Women in Engineering Awards Banquet held at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center on March 18th. One hundred and twenty scholarships, totaling over $140,000 were awarded to deserving female undergraduate engineering students. In the midst of this an economic downturn, the amount of scholarships surprisingly increased from $120,000 in 2009 to over $140,000 this year.
Faculty Excellence and Outstanding Mentor Awards
In addition to the scholarships, awards were given for faculty excellence and outstanding mentoring.
The recipients of the Faculty Excellence Awards:
Ken Gall from the School of Material Science and Engineering, Sue Ann Bidstrup Allen from the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Ali Adibi from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
