There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The Language Cafe was formed to encourage friendships and conversation between American students and Language Institute students. For those with a foreign language requirement, the Language Café is a great place to practice speaking the language or languages you are studying while allowing Language Institute students to practice their English.
This is also a great service project for campus organizations and a practical way to learn greetings and important phrases from other countries, plus share your campus life experience with people from other cultures. Students meet weekly at the picnic tables in front of the O’Keefe building for conversation, small group discussions, games and snacks. We are located at 151 Sixth Street, at the corner of Techwood and Sixth.
We have also created a new online conversation program called Conversation Partners, which encourages Language Institute students to connect with Georgia Tech students for language and cultural exchange. Students meet online at www.languagepartners.ning.com and, once acquainted, can set up a schedule to meet regularly in person. Ideally, both partners will have an equal opportunity to practice the language skills they are learning.
