Summaries

Summary Sentence: Hhazards, warning systems and products, and how you can prepare both at work and at home

Full Summary: A free class on weather hazards, warning systems and products, and how you can prepare for them both at work and at home.

Following wild weather in 2009 with extreme flooding, the Southeast is once again under the gun as the Climate Prediction Center released their 2010 Hurricane Season Projection, calling for an "above average to extremely above average" hurricane season. Similar seasons in the past brought us destructive hurricanes such as Opal, Dennis and Ivan. Are you ready?

The Office of Emergency Preparedness under the Georgia Tech Police Department is offering the class for all GT Students and Employees. As part of the Emergency Preparedness Certificate Program, this class will discuss weather hazards, warning systems and products, and how you can prepare for them both at work and at home.
