Byers Tennis ComplexStarting this fall, Campus Recreation will offer a Faculty/Staff Tennis League. The Friday night mixed-doubles tennis round-robin program will provide a social and healthy outlet for faculty and staff through tennis.
This tennis program will provide a structured match system, weekly updates to an internal ranking system, and a platform for timely registration and communication.The round-robin tournament style allows for each team to play the all other teams in consecutive matches until all teams have played each other. This contrasts the elimination tournament style.
The games will begin Friday at 5:30pm and end at 8:00pm, with warm-ups staring at 5:00pm. The season also begins on September 9th and will end November 4th, with no matches being held on October 7th. All games will be played at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Starting on September 3rd, there will be weekly registration for each team that you can sign up for through mycrc.gatech.edu, starting on September 3rd. The cost per week is $10 and participants are required to register each week for the next week of play.
Although there is a moderate cost to participate, it will be used for staffing needs and prizes, giving participants the catalyst to enjoy meting new colleagues and competing in a sport they love.
