There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. It takes about the same amount of heat-trapping gases to power the city of Atlanta's government as it does to drive 98,000 cars, according to a report released Tuesday by the city. Atlanta's greenhouse gas inventory, developed by a Georgia Tech student-faculty team, is Step 1 of a goal set by Mayor Shirley Franklin to reduce the city government's carbon footprint 7 percent by 2012. Franklin was one of the first mayors in the country to sign on to the U.S. Mayor's Conference Climate Protection Agreement in 2005, in lieu of federal action. Read more>>>>
