Two International Affairs undergraduates, Edward "Ted" Danowitz and Katherine Lange, are presenting finding of independent research they conducted under supervision of Prof Margaret E. Kosal at Georgia Tech's 5th Annual Undergrad Research Symposium.

Ted Danowitz will be speaking on "Nanotechnology Development and the Chinese Military". His research explored the rhetoric and institutional capabilities of the People's Liberation Army to realize potential military applications of nanotechnology.

Katie Lange will be presenting a poster on the findings of her work on "Deterring Bioterrorism". Using the 2004 outbreak of polio in the northern Nigerian state of Kano, her work considers the empirical correlations between infectious disease control and 4th wave deterrence theories for limiting the risk of biological terrorism.
