There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. “The Talented 12” is an annual feature of C&EN, ACS’ weekly newsmagazine, and profiles a dozen of the brightest young researchers using chemistry to solve global problems. The accomplishments of this impressive group include: creating more efficient solar cells, untangling the mysteries of aging, probing foods for contaminants, and developing drugs to treat Alzheimer’s and other diseases.
Among the 2016 Talented 12 is Lauren Austin, who did her Ph.D. in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry under the guidance of Mostafa El-Sayed.
