There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Microsoft Corporation and the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC) have announced that they will establish a joint center for radio-frequency identification (RFID) research at GEDC's headquarters at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The partnership will receive $600,000 in funding from Microsoft over two years to pursue research in secure encrypted RFID. The work, which will be based on intellectual property provided by both partners, will support basic research into RFID technology, as well as student education in the field.
